Torn Together

An emotive short film exploring the mother/daughter relationship in modern Britain as seen and told through the eyes and voices of young female carers aged 12-19. Using music, re-enactments and drama, young women struggle to make sense of their mother’s mental illness and the invisible impact it has on their relationship. Lizzie’s Story

A collaboration between one of our visual artists Kate Sweeney, Open Clasp Theatre Company and SECOS Recovery Project in Middlesbrough. The project explored prostitution through workshops where women devised and performed scenes that related directly to their own life experiences. The workshops were filmed, animated and edited into this harrowing, beautiful and frank film. lizzies-story  

Newcastle Slutwalk

Short film documenting the Newcastle Slutwalk 2011. A response to the worldwide march against victim-blaming that began as a result of a statement made by a member of the Toronto Police that said not to dress like a “Slut”, if you do not want to be raped.
